KK Metalac too much for Rabotnicki

In one of the last two games for 2009 in the EUROHOLD Balkan League, at Gradski Park in Skopje, the local side Rabotnicki didn`t manage to overcome KK Metalac Valjevo, and lost the game 61:80.
 
The home side was the more active team in the begining of the game, and deservedly they led the score 19:13 after the first 10 minutes of play.
 
Rabotnicki started the second period strong, and kept their lead. 2.30 minutes in the second quarter, they were up 24:17. KK Metalac made a 11 to nothing run, to see themselves up by 4 - 24:28. Rabotnicki quickly scored 5 unanswered points and took the lead again (29:28). The two teams changed the leader a few more times to settle for a 34:34 tie at halftime.
 
The third period was interesting and close, as in the 35th minute of the game, the score was still tied - 47:47. After that there was another strong run by Metalac - 12:2, as the Serbian side built a comfortable 10-point lead before the last 10 minutes.
 
Metalac didn`t drop the lead for a second in the last period, as they slowly made the difference bigger, as the final score after 40 minutes of play was 61:80 in favor of KK Metalac.
 
Vuksan Gagovic led Metalac with 26 points, shooting 5/10 from three-point land. Miroslav Radenkovic came off with a double-double off the bench - 21 points and 12 rebounds. Vladimir Panic finished with 20.
 
Gjorgji Cekovski scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists, but also made 5 turnovers. Blagoj Janev had 17 points, and Darko Sokolov added 11.
 
That was Metalac`s second win in Group A of the EUROHOLD Balkan League, as now they have a 2-3 balance and occupy the third spot. On the other end, Rabotnicki have only one win, and with a balance of 1-4 are stuck on the bottom in Group A.
 
In the first round after new year, Rabotnicki are visiting Rilski Sportist in Samokov. KK Metalac are hosting Euroins Cherno More in Valjevo.
