Domestic leagues: Beroe evened the series, Levski eliminated in drama

BC Beroe evened the quarterfinal series against Spartak Pleven. The team from Stara Zagora won 81-74 away to tie it at 1-1 and bring the teams back to its gym for the third and decisive game.

A 10-0 run for the hosts in the last quarter put them up by 1 but Beroe hit back. The visitors responded very well and again took control of the game to win it.

Aleksandar Todorovic had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the victory as Evrik Gary scored 20 points.

Levski 2014 was eliminated after losing 104-109 at home to Balkan. The match was a very dramatic one and it had to be decided in two overtimes.

With 38 seconds to go in the fourth period the visitors led by 7 but missed 4 of their 6 free throws and Levski managed to tie the game with 2.9 seconds on the clock. The first overtime wasn′t much different. Balkan led by 5 but Levski cut the deficit to 2. Then in the final second Angel Peychinov was fouled shooting a three-pointer. He missed the first attempt but scored the next two and the game went to second overtime.

Both teams exchanged leads as with 27 seconds to go the visitors were up by 3. This time they didn′t allow Levski to score and made their free throws to seal the outcome.

Evgeni Hadzhirusev had 25 points and 6 rebounds for the Blues while Aleks Simeonov added 23 and 11.
