Domestic cups: A hard but successful start for Beroe

BC Beroe started with a win the Cup of Bulgaria tournament. The Stara Zagora team played Cherno more in the first quarterfinal and had a hard time before winning 69-58. In the semifinal Beroe will meet the host Academic Plovdiv.

Cherno more started better and led for almost the entire first half. However Beroe finished it on a 10-0 run to go at the break up by 2. In the second half the Greens stayed in front but the opponent was very close. The match was decided with 3:10 to play when Aaron Jones scored a basket and a free throw to make the difference 10 points.

Shane Gibson was the top scorer for the win with 19 points. Tihomir Zhelev added 18 while Stjepan Tesija had 8.
