Domestic cups: Feni and Karpos in the semifinal, Kozuv and Kumanovo are out

KK Karpos Sokoli 2000 qualified for the semifinal of the Cup of Macedonia. The team had a surprisingly difficult game but defeated Vardar 92-84. The Skopje team did well in the first quarter by taking 30-13 lead. After that Karpos controlled the game but by losing the next three quarter allowed Vardar to close the gap. They cut it down to just 5 points but Dragan Labovic scored a triple to erase any hopes.


Bojan Trajkovski had 20 points for the winners while Darko Sokolov scored 18. Kendrick Perry also played well with 12 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

 

The hosts MKK Feni Industries had no trouble in defeating Ohrid 112-69. The Kavadarci team won all four quarters and never gave the opponent any chance.

 

Matja Ceshkovic finished the game with 20 points while Kiril Nikolovski had 18 and 13 rebounds for a double-double.

 

KK Kumanovo 2009 fought hard but eventually lost to Rabotnicki 81-87. Rabotnicki took an 11-point lead after the first quarter and was holding on to it. With less than two minutes to go Kumanovo cut the deficit to just 2 but the opponent managed to hold on.

 

Dimitar Karadzovski had 19 points and 6 assists for Kumanovo while Danilo Mijatovic had 15 points.

 

KK Kozuv also was eliminated after losing to the champions MZT Skopje 72-83. The Gevgelija team went down by 12 after the first period and then tried to catch up. With five minutes to play the difference went down to 9 points but MZT answered with a 6-0 run to decide the outcome.

 

Kenyon McNeail had 18 points for Kozuv as Milivoje Mijovic added 17 and 11 rebounds.

 

In the semifinals tonight Karpos Sokoli will play Rabotnicki as Feni will face MZT.
