Domestic leagues: Blokotehna debuted with a win, Kumanovo lost a thriller
KK Blokotehna had a winning debut in Macedonian first league. The BIBL newcomers had an easy task and defeated KK Kozuv 99-56 in the Gevgelija derby.
The first quarter was a close one as Blokotehna took its first lead at 12-10. After ten minutes the difference was just 4 points but it reached 25 at the break and there was no intrigue in the second half.
Dwayne Benjamin was the top performer for the win with 28 points and 13 rebounds as Goran Glavchev had 13 points.
KK Kumanovo 2009 started the new season with a home defeat. The BIBL runner-up hosted Rabotnicki and lost 88-91 in overtime.
Kumanovo had a very good first half and was up by 14 points at the end of it. The team continued to have the lead in the third period but in the fourth Rabotnicki completed a comeback. However Kumanovo again went up but with 4 seconds to play the visitors tied the score. In the overtime Kumanovo took a 5-point lead but the visitors finished the game on an 8-0 run to take the win.
Dimitar Karadzovski had 29 points for Kumanovo as Marjan Janeski added 19 and 8 rebounds.
