Asen Nikolov: I have big remarks for the first half

Akademik Bultex 99 lost a heartbreaker at home by just 2 points to Levski 2014. The hosts were down by 16 at the break but came back and gave themselves a chance to win. Here is what head coach Asen Nikolov said after the match was over: 

"It was an interesting contest. After we totally were sleeping during the first half, we started playing better defense. Unfortunately we lost the game in the last offense. Our goal was the ball not to go to Stanimir Marinov and we did that but we missed that Veselin Veselinov run to the basket. However those things can happen in the game but I have some big remarks about the first half.

You need to show the character during the whole game. We are waiting few days or a week for the match to come and we have to show it from the first second and not in some moments when the result is negative. This is something I want from my teams. It′s important the players to motivate themselves before practice and before every game. That way a team looks good and shows good basketball."

The captain Stanislav Vaklinov had this to say after the match was over: "During the first half we didn′t play our best basketball and it was normal to score just 21 points. We still managed to take the lead in the final period but we had no luck. I still have to congratulate the team for the character."
