Domestic cups: Rilski, Levski and Akademik through to the semifinals
BC Rilski Sportist had no problems to reach the semifinals of Bulgarian cup. The Samokov team beat Yambol 106-74 to get an easy p?ss in to the top 4. Rilski had won the first game so the hosts needed to just keep a good advantage. At the break they led by 16 points which was more than enough for the win.
Zlatin Georgiev had 19 points for Rilski as Evan Ravenel added 18.
BC Levski Lukoil also had no problems against Cherno more winning 70-63 away the second game. The first one was won by 20 points so the qualifications was never in doubt. The Blues didn′t play at a 100% and were down for most of the first half before taking a 3-point edge at the break. In the second part of the game the visitors were controlling the difference and won.
Hristo Nikolov had 18 points for Levski Lukoil as Justin Knox added 14.
BC Akademik Bultex 99 ousted the current cup holder BC Beroe after winning 81-79 away. The Plovdiv team had a 6-point lead after the first match so it was a tough battle. The hosts were up for most of the time in the first half but at the break Akademik led by 2. Their lead went up to 10 in the third period and was good for a long time before Beroe had some chances to complete a comeback but missed its shots.
Martin Durchev had 22 points for the win as Isiah Umipig added 14.
The semifinals will be played on February 14th and 17th. The ties are Rilski Sportist - Akademik Bultex 99 and Levski Lukoil - Balkan.
