Akademik Bultex 99 keeps Gruev for two more seasons
BC Akademik Bultex 99 will keep one of its players for the next two seasons. The point guard Aleksandar Gruev signed a new contract with the team and will continue to run the offense of the Plovdiv squad.
Gruev joined Akademik in February and averaged 9.8 points and 4.4 assists in 17 Bulgarian league games. He also did well in the Balkan League and was one of the top players with 10.4 points and 3.2 rebounds while reaching the 1/4 final playoff with the team.
The news about Gruev comes right after it was understood that two of the main players from last season will not continue with the team. The power forward Dimitar Dimitrov decided to join another team while Martin Durchev retired from playing.
As it′s already known Akademik will have a new coach - Darko Kostic. The management is now looking at different players in order to complete the roster for the upcoming season and the battles in the Balkan League and Bulgarian championship.
