Domestic cups: Beroe and Academic Bultex 99 a step closer to the semifinals

BC Beroe made an important step towards reaching the semifinals of Bulgarian cup. The Stara Zagora team visited Rilski Sportist in a first quarterfinal leg and won it 78-67 to take a good advantage before the second game at home.

After a close start The Greens made a 13-2 run and never looked back. At times their difference was over 20 points but in the end the hosts managed to cut it. The gap was even closed to just 3 but Beroe managed to pull away once again and headed home in a good mood.

Conner Frankamp was above all with 18 points and 11 assists for the win. Aleksandar Yanev had 15 points as James White and Dallin Bachynski added 11 each.

In the mean time Academic Bultex 99 also took a good advantage after beating Yambol 95-78 at home. The teams exchanged quarters in the firts half and the visitors were up by 5 points at the end of it. A good third by the hosts gave them the lead and in the last one they increased it even more.

Mladen Vitkovic was the top scorer for the winners with 19 points while Vasil Bachev added 17.
