It′s time for the first game of 2019

The new year 2019 in the Balkan League is about to start tonight. The first match will be played in Plovdiv where the local BC Academic Bultex 99 will host KK Blokotehna. It will start at 18:30 local time and will be broadcast LIVE on YouTube and SportMedia.tv.

This game will mark the return of head coach Asen Nikolov on the bench of the home side. It will be interesting to see if he has managed to change something over the last few days after he stepped up in the role. All the players are healthy and ready to go but of course once again the main weapons should be Vasil Bachev and Daishon Knight. Of course in order to get the win other players also have to step up especially under the basket. With a win tonight Academic will underline its good position and will make a big step towards the Final Four.

As for Blokotehna the team started with 3 wins from its first 3 games. Of course now the team will come to Plovdiv in order to continue in the same way and in order to do so it has to play a complete game. Mijatovic, Glavchev and Mladenovikj have been the most important players so far but also the likes of Gaidys and Penn have to contribute for the Macedonian side. Head coach Ilievski usually makes his teams play really well and relies on a big fight so this is what he will look from from his players tonight.
