Domestic leagues: Beroe lost a dramatic final

BC Beroe fell short of winning its second Cup of Bulgaria after 2017. In the final The Stara Zagora team lost to Levski Lukoil 61-70 after a lot of ups and downs from both sides.

 

Beroe had the better start and went up 15-4. Until the break though The Greens played really bad, made a lot of mistakes and as Levski finished the first half on a 31-7 run, the team went up by 13 points. In the third quarter the diiference reached 20 points and from that moment on Beroe started making its comeback. The Greens were able to make a 31-10 run and even took the lead when Nikolay Stoyanov scored a triple. The final five minutes started with the score tied and both sides started missing and making mistakes. However it was Levski which was able to break the slump and thanks to good free throw shooting pulled away to eventually win the game.

 

Conner Frankamp was the top scorer for Beroe with 21 points adding also 9 rebounds. Aleksandar Yanev was the next best for the team with 14 points.
