Domestic leagues: Two crucial away wins for Barsy Atyrau

Amazing game by McGill

BC Barsy Atyrau recorded two very important wins in Kazakhstan league. The team visited second place Tobol and won twice as the race for the best possible position before the playoffs continues.

Barsy won the first game 83-76. The team did well in second and third quarter managing to go up by 8 points. In the final ten minutes the visitors were controlling the score and winning the game.

Donte McGill was the top performer for the winners with 22 points and 7 assists. Dmitriy Klimov also did well with 14 points and 9 rebounds as Rustam Utegen and Vladimir Ivanov had 10 points apiece.

The second match was much more dramatic as Barsy won it 107-104 thanks to a great last quarter. The hosts went up by 9 points at the break after winning the second period by 13. After 30 minutes the difference was 7 points and with a minute to go the home side went up by 4 after scoring a triple. Thanks to Donte McGill however the visitors managed to make a 7-0 run in the final minute which won the game for them.

McGill had an amazing game and finished with 49 points and 7 rebounds. Vladimir Ivanov had 15 points as Arkadiy Mkrtychyan added 13.

Barsy is currently fourth with 14 wins and 10 defeats and has two defeats more than Tobol and Almaty which are 2nd and 3rd.
