Rilski gave only one quarter to Torus and achieved their fifth win

Rilski Sportist achieved their fifth win in the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League, after beating KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski 92:74 in a game from Round 9 of the BIBL regular season.The visiting side got off to a great start, thanks to Justin Reynolds who scored the first four points tonight, giving KK Torus - SCBT a 0:4 lead with just 2 minutes played in the game. Torus continued to play good and remained with the lead - halfway through the first period they were up by five - 5:10. In the next moments Torus increased their lead to a game-high so far 9 points - 7:16 with 3.22 left to play. Rilski pulled themselves together in the following minutes and decreased the difference to just 4 points - 14:18 with a little more than a minute to go. However Torus scored four straight points and led by 8 after the first quarter - 14:22.
Torus extended their lead to double digits early in the second period - 17:27 with 8.42 remaining, but after that Rilski made a 6-1 run, cutting their deficit to 5 points - 23:28. Despite the team′s good play in these couple of minutes, the visitors remained ahead - 26:32 with 5.32 left before halftime. Riletso started to cut their deficit, as 2.19 before halftime Filip Vukosavljevic scored for 36:39. Branko Mirkovic made two free-throws with 47 seconds left, giving his team their first lead of the game - 42:41. Halfway through the game the score was 42:42.
The first minutes of the second half were really close, as Rilski got the lead at first but Torus managed to tie the game at 47:47. However Riletso would go on a 8:2 run in the next moments, which would give them a 55:49 lead with 6.48 left to play in the third. Rilski managed to break ahead of their opposition and led the game 61:52, four minutes before the end. They had their first double-digit lead when Asen Velikov made a three for 66:54 with 2.45 left on the clock. After 30 minutes of play, Rilski led 69:58.
Rilski continued with their good play after the start of the last quarter, as for the first four minutes they allowed just two points in their basket, and scored seven, increasing their lead to 76:60. The home side remained in control of what was going on on the court, as they led by 18 - 83:65 with less than four minutes left in the game. Riletso didn′t let anything happen and kept the lead until the very end, and deservedly celebrated a 92:74 win.
Branko Mirkovic led Rilski in the win with 25 points and 8 assists. Filip Vukosavljevic added a double-double - 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Lubomir Kirov finished with 13 points. Ante Bilobrk had 11 and Asen Velikov finished with 10.
Former Rilski Sportist guard Dimitar Karadzovski had 19 points and 9 assists against his old club. Ivica Dimcevski also finished with 19 points, while Justin Reynolds added 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Rilski moved up to the first spot in Group A with 5 wins and 4 losses, but they have played one game more than KK Mornar (5-3) and BC Galil Gilboa (6-1). Torus moved up to the fifth spot (2-6), as they also have one game more than OKK Beograd (2-5)
