Timisoara finished their BIBL participation with a win

BC Timisoara finished their participation in the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League with a win. Predrag Badnjarevic′s side defeated KK Mornar Bar 88:73, but after Rilski Sportist′s win against OKK Beograd, they didn′t go through to the quarterfinals, finishing on the fourth position in Group A.
 
Dan Paltinisanu scored the first basket giving TImisoara a 2:0 lead, before Ivan Jelenic gave Mornar their first lead of the night, after scoring a three-pointer - 2:3. The home side went on a 5-0 run, and led the score 7:3, but Mornar also answered with 5 straight points - 7:8. However it was TImisoara who managed to break ahead of their opposition, as they led 13:8 with 5.36 remaining. Timisoara remained ahead, leading 17:13 with 3.36 left. The home side didn′t let the lead go until the end of the first quarter, and after ten minutes they were up by 7 - 27:20.
 
Timisoara scored nine points against four for Mornar in the first five minutes of the second quarter, and they were up by 12 halfway through the period - 36:24. Timisoara continued to push, and extended their lead to a game-high so far 17 points - 44:27 with 2.18 remaining before halftime. Halfway through the game Timisoara were up by 15 points - 46:31.
 
Mornar decreased the difference to 11 points early inteh third period - 48:37 with 7.32 left. Timisoara made a 7:3 run in the next minutes, getting back their 15-point lead - 55:40 with 4.38 left in the third period. Mornar managed to cut their deficit down to 10 points, late in the third quarter, but Sime Spralja scored 5 straight points, getting back the lead to 15 points. After 30 minutes of play Timisoara were up by 13 - 64:51.
 
Timisoara remained ahead, playing calmly and keeping a comfortable advantage after the start of the fourth quarter. In the opening minutes of the last period they scored 10 points against 9 for KK Mornar, still having a good lead - 74:60. Until the end of regulation the visiting side weren′t able to decrease the lead, and after 40 minutes of play the final score was settled at 88:73.
 
Sime Spralja and Zlatko Jovanovic led Timisoara with 17 points each, as Jovanovic added 7 assists to his stats. Dominique Archie added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, while Robert Sarovic scored 14 points. Dan Paltinisanu added 12.
 
Filip Barovic led Mornar with 15 points, while Ivan Jelenic and Vukota Pavic added 12 points each. Lazar Radosavljevic finished the game with 11.
BC Timisoara finished fourth in Group A with a balance of 5 wins and 5 losses. Mornar Bar are second with 6-4.
