And the winner is… Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion. In a final against Maccabi Next Urban Haifa, Hapoel won and lifted the trophy in this year’s edition of Delasport Balkan League. It was thanks to a very good performance in the first half in which the team managed to build a double-digit lead that they won the match. A solid display both offensively and defensively allowed Hapoel to lead by 15 points after 20 minutes and in the second half they were able to sustain the advantage and won the game and the trophy. Maccabi on the other side was really fighting hard and put up a good outing but the qualify of Hapoel was too much to overcome.Hapoel went on a better to take an early 10-4 lead as Maccabi tried to stay close. The did so but not for long as with three minutes to go in the quarter the difference was extended to 10 points and stayed that much after ten minutes. In the second quarter Hapoel was able to control the game and the difference. It reached as high as 19 points with 1:30 to play in the half but Maccabi was able to cut it to 15 at the end of it. In the third quarter the difference didn’t increase but early in the fourth it went over 20 points, so Hapoel decided the outcome.
The big difference between the two teams was the three-point shooting. Hapoel had 9 of 27 in the game while Maccabi was just 2 of 23 which was too much to overcome.
DJ Kennedy was the top scorer for the winners with 21 points while also adding 8 rebounds. Nimrod Levi also had a solid game with 16 points and 9 rebounds as Gabriel Chachashvili had 12 and 8.
