Maccabi Next Urban Haifa to continue in Delasport Balkan League

Last season's runner-up - Maccabi Next Urban Haifa, will once again play in Delasport Balkan League. The Israeli side and the management of the competition have agreed that the team will continue to play in the competition and will of course try to go one step further and lift the trophy.

This will be the third straight season in which Maccabi will be a part of the competition. In the first one they were eliminated already in the Group Stage but thanks to solid additions in the second part of the last season, they managed to reach the Final. Maccabi made a lot of moves throught the campaign to finally find the right pieces and after beating Balkan in the semifinal went to play Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion in the final. There, the team from Israeli first division was just too much but overall it was a successful performance by Maccabi.

The team will continue to play in Israeli second division as they finished 9th in the regular season and then lost to Ironi Rain Nahariya in the quarterfinal stage. Now the ambitions will surely be bigger and the team will hope to be one of the best both in BIBL and Israeli National League.

Maccabi Haifa is one of the historic teams in Israel which was founded back in 1954. The team has been a champion once back in 2013 and has finished second on three occasions.
