BC Akademik Plovdiv recorded its fifth win in a row in Delasport Balkan League. The Plovdiv side hosted KK TFT and in a hard-fought game managed to come out with an 80-75 victory. In a close game the hosts did better in the final minutes by using better their chances. Akademik now is 5-0 in the standings while TFT moved to 2-4. Next week both teams will meet again in Skopje.

It was a close game throughout with Akademik finally managing to break it open at the end of the third quarter. Thanks to some good shooting they went up by 9 points and then stayed in front in the final minutes. TFT however was always close as the difference was between 4 and 9 points. The visitors had few good chances to get even closer but didn't use them and Akademik again pulled away, also thanks to some good offensive rebounding which gave the hosts a lot of opportunities for second chance points. With 1:30 to go Akademik once again went up by 9 points and, although TFT cut some of the deficit, there was no time for more.

There were a lot of turnovers from both sides as the hosts had 27 while the visitors 18. Akademik had also an advantage in 3-points shooting with the team making 11 triples from 25 attempts compared to 7 from 30 for TFT.

The hosts were led by Nikolay Nikolov who finished with 17 points. Jere Vucica and Nikolay Titkov were the next best scorers by adding 13 points apiece.

Tyron Harris finished the game as top scorer with 24 points adding also 9 assists and 7 steals but making 7 turnovers. Landrius Horton had 18 points as Lachlan Anderson scored 15.
