KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded its third overall and first away victory in Delasport Balkan League. Facing the group leaders BC AKademik Plovdiv away, the North Macedonian side impressed with an offensive performance to win 96-79. It was the second time in which Kumanovo defeated its Bulgarian opponent, as both Akademik's losses are to that team. The results put the visitors on a 3-3 record which ties them with Beroe and Ibar. On Thursday evening Kumanovo will visit Beroe and the winner will move to the top four in the group. Akademik is still the undisputed leader in the group and next week will host Ibar.

Kumanovo had an advantage for the whole game and the team was bulding a lead steadily. By winning the first two quarters by 3 points each, they had a 6-point edge at the break and increased it to double-digits in the third. A strong finish to it by Akademik brought Akademik back to 7 points and in the fourth even as close as six. Kumanovo however was responding every time its opponent tried to make a comeback and at the end managed to come out with a convincing victory by winning all four quarters as well.

The visitors capitalized on having 5 turnovers less that the hosts and a better shooting percentage for 2 points - 65.9% (29 of 44) compared to 58.8% (20 of 34).

The top scorers for the winners were the new signing Otis Livingston and Corey Raley-Ross with 21 points each as Aleksandar Andrejevic had a double-double with 14 and 12 rebounds.

The hosts were led by Obrad Tomic with 15 points and 7 rebounds as Nikolay Titkov added 14 points.
