Bulgaria are the new champions of the Men U18 Division B, after winning the final game of the European Championship against Denmark in Varna. The final score was 70:68 for Bulgaria, as both teams gained their places in Division A next year, after reaching the final.
 
Things were looking good for the Bulgarians since the very beginning of the game, as they won the first quarter 24:17. Halfway through the game their lead was already 14 points-  41:27. Denmark decreased the margin to 52:40 after the third period, and in the closing quarter they were close to upsetting the hosts, but at the end it was Bulgaria who grabbed a 70:68 win.
 
Dimitar Dimitrov scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds to his statline. Aleks Simeonov had 12 points, while Pavlin Ivanov finished with 10.
 
Peter Moeller had 15 points for Denmark, while Kevin Larsen added 14 points and 14 rebounds.
 
Bulgaria finished the championship unbeaten, achieving seven straight wins in order to get to the gold medals.
 
Sweden got the bronze medals, after beating Montenegro 71:65 in the game for 3/4 place.   Bulgaria′s Pavlin Ivanov was named MVP of the championship. The SG of Benneton Treviso averaged 18.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.0 steals in 27.7 minutes per contest over 7 games.
