The BIBL sent an official request to FIBA Europe, regarding Israel joining the League

The management of the EUROHOLD Balkan League sent an official request to FIBA Europe, regarding the possibility of Israel joining the League and Israeli teams playing in the BIBL in 2011/2012.   All the federations members of the BIBL have given their approval, regarding Israel joining the League, but the EUROHOLD Balkan League is recognized by FIBA Europe, so all official procedures are being followed.   The management of the League is hoping for a positive answer, as recently another international competition recognized by FIBA Europe - the Adriatic League accepted Maccabi Tel-Aviv to play in the competition.   If things turn out positive, and the BIBL receives FIBA′s approval for Israeli teams to participate in the League, then the EUROHOLD Balkan League will expand to 12 teams for the 2011/2012 season.
