Stefan Georgiev, one of Levski′s key players in the last seasons of the EUROHOLD Balkan League, and also team captain will be out of play for around three months. Georgiev, who is commonly known by his nickname Toro got injured at the international tournament in Cyprus, where Bulgaria played.
 
After the examination, it appeared that Toro has a torn meniscus and also a partial ACL tear. He will go through surgery and will be out for around three months. In that way he will sit out not only EuroBasket 2011, but also the start of the season in the NBL and in the Balkan League.
 
Since the start of the EUROHOLD Balkan League in 2008, Stefan Georgiev has played for Levski in all three editions of the BIBL. Over 33 games, including 21 starts, his average stats are 13.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
 
He became the EUROHOLD Balkan League Champion with Levski in 2010, when they won the Final 4 in Sofia. He was also named MVP of the event.
