Bulgaria suffered a heavy defeat in what could be called the best possible reality check in the preparation for EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania. Rosen Barchovski′s team was crushed 59:96 by the current European champion Spain in a friendly game in Guadalajara.
 
Spain started off with great shooting percentage from long range, and after the first ten minutes held a 27:10 lead. In the second period only Filip Videnov′s effort wasn′t enough for Bulgaria, as Spain extended their lead to 55:27 halfway through the game. After 30 minutes of play Spain led by 29 points - 72:43, and the final score was settled at 96:59 - 37 points more for Spain.
 
Juan Carlos Navarro scored 19 points in just 13 minutes for Spain. Sergio Llull added 17, while Pau Gasol finished with 15.
 
Filip Videnov was the only player to score in double digits for Bulgaria, finishing with 15 points. E.J. Rowland addde 9, and Kaloyan Ivanov and Chavdar Kostov scored 8 each.
