The BIBL accepts Israel as member of the Balkan League

The BIBL accepts Israel as member of the Balkan League Israel is the latest addition to the BIBL

Today the Management of the Balkan League took decision to accept Israel as official member of the League and therefore 2 teams from Israal will play in the BIBL from season 2011/2012.

The competition commission and the Management of the Balkan League decided that the teams will be BC Hapoel Tel Aviv and BC Galil Gilboa. BC Hapoel Tel Aviv was the first oen to send request to play in the Balkan League and we have to respect it . The history and the structure of Hapoel Tel Aviv fit to the philosophy of the Balkan League. BC Hapoel Holon and BC Galil Gilboa sent requests in the middle of July and after checking all the parameters and the ranking of the clubs the decision was to go for BC Galil Gilboa. We would like to thank BC Holon for the interest and we wish them a successful season in the Israeli League.

 

We strongly believ that season 2011/2012 with the 2 Israeli teams will be very interesting and with high level games. THe combination of Balkan basketball and Israeli basketball will give a lot of interesting games and new experience to the spectators and to the teams.
