Macedonia won the "Macedonia Trophy" tournament which was held in Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje. In the last day of the event, the home side defeated New Zealand 67:68 and remained without a loss, after beating Montenegro in the first day. Montenegro finished second with 1-1, after a win against New Zealand, while the Kiwis ended up on the last position.   In the last day of the tourney, the Macedonian NT achieved a 67:68 win against New Zealand, which sealed the first spot for the home team. Pero Antic made two free-throws with 11 seconds to go, and that decided the final outcome of te game. Antic led Macedonia with 16 points in the game. Todor Gecevski and Bo McCalleb added 12 points each.   Tom Abercrombie scored 12 for New Zealand, Lindsay Tait added 11, while Kirk Penney and Corey Webster had 10 each.
