Bulgaria was just minutes away from making the first surprise in the tournament and upsetting Slovenia, but in the end the Slovenian side, led by legendary coach Bozidar Maljkovic showed more experience and took the win by 8 points, after allowing Bulgaria to score just 2 in the final 4 minutes of the game - 59:67.
 
Erazem Lorbek scored 18 and grabbed 9 boards for Slovenia.Goran Dragic scored 13 points, along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. His brother Zoran Dragic finished with 12 points.
 
E.J. Rowland had a strong game for Bulgaria - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Filip Videnov added 14 points, but also commited 6 turnovers.
 
Today Bulgaria is facing Belgium, while Slovenia will play Ukraine.
