One of the big favourites in EUROHOLD Balkan League  this season – BC Galil Gilbo started their campaign in EUROHOLD Balkan League with a narrow away win over KK Mornar – 76-78 .  Guests are newcomers in BIBL this season, but they managed to play an interesting game with a high level basketball  in front of 1000 spectators in the Topolica Hall in Bar. This game was really important  for Galil, as they wanted to start their participation in the League with a victory, as last season they failed in the qualification for the Euroleague group stage and then in the Eurocup first round. The Israeli team controled the whole game, winning all 4 quarters this evening.

The two teams started the game a little bit upset, as Mornar faced such a difficult opponent for the first time this season, while Galil were set to make their debut in the competition.  The first  quarter pаssed with a very fast basketball, as no one managed togo ahead with more than 3-4 points. After 10 minutes of play, BC Galil Gilboa had 4 points lead in their favour - 19:23, as Ido Kozikaro made a basket and a foul in the last offense of the Israeli team.

The quests went strong into the second quarter and quickly started to build a lead. Joseph Jones and Chaisson Allen led their team to an excellent performance , as he Galil had advantage between 5-8 points during the whole second period. Finally, halfway the Israeli team had 10 points more than their Montenegrin  hosts – 48:38. The American power house Joseph Jones led his teammates with 10 points,  Chaisson Allen record 9 points and 3 rebounds, while Yan Martin had 7 for Galil. On the other side Akeem Scott had 14 points, while Lazar Radosavljevic scored 10.

After halftime Galil continued to be the more active team, dominating on the court, but they did not manage to increase their lead. On the other side KK Mornar tried to play on the maximum of their potential, but the young Montenergin squad showed that the lack of international experience and high level basketball probably will be a big disadvantage for the team this year, although that Mornar have one of the most promising rosters in the whole Balkan region. After 18:18 in the third quarter, the score was to 56:66 with 10 minutes remaining.

Mornar started the last period with a 10 points deficit , but quickly decreased the difference.  Nikola Ivanovic with a jupmshot, four successful free-throws from Filip Barovic, followed by a another jumper from Ivan Jelenic made the trail of Mornar to only one point – 71:72, two minutes before the end of the game. In the last 120 seconds, the home side did not manage to make a surprise, as their efforts were enough only for a honorable lost – 76:78, even though that Ivan Jelenic made an incredible 3-pointer, 16 seconds before the final whistle.  Finally Galil showed that they deservedly are considered for the biggest favourite for the Balkan League crown this season. The Lior Lubin’s squad have ambitious to win the competition and  their professional behavior  on the court are big advantage not only for the league, but also for all participating clubs.
