Galil Gilboa cruised past KK Torus - SCBT for their fifth straight win

BC Galil Gilboa remained unbeaten in Group A of the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League, as they enjoyed an 85:62 win against KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski at home in Gan Ner, as this was the team′s fifth win in a row.
 
Galil Gilboa got off to a dream start, scoring the first nine points of the game and leading 9:0 with 6.38 left to play in the first quarter. Bojan Trajkovski scored the first basket for Torus, making the score 9:2, but Gilboa answered with 4 points in a row, getting a double-digit lead for the first time tonight - 13:2 with 5.51 to go. Torus decreased the difference to single digits twice, but Galil Gilboa immediately recovered to 10 and more points. After 10 minutes of play the home side held a deserved 10-point lead - 28:18.
 
Jovan Markovski scored for 28:20 just after the start of the second period, but Amit Beir-Katz and Yan Martin made the score 32:20 with 7 minutes remaining in the first half. The home side scored six more unanswered points, extending their lead to a game-high 18 points - 38:20 with 4.48 left, which caused Slobodan Petrovski to take a time-out. Torus managed to erase some of the lead, after a basket by Nikola Karakolev and a last-second shot by Pero Blazevski - 38:24 with 1.33 left. Yan Martin responded with a three of his own and Galil led 41:24 halfway through the game.
 
Bojan Trajkovski scored a three for 41:27 just 20 seconds into the second half, but Galil Gilboa answered with a basket by Courtney Fells for 43:27. In the following minute the home side scored just four points against twelve for Torus, as the lead dropped down to single digits once again - 47:39. Joseph Jones made the score 51:41 with 3.40 remaining. Justin Reynolds and Gorjan Markovski decreased the difference down to just six points - 51:45 with 3.00 left in the quarter. Courtney Fells scored 7 points and Joseph Jones added 2 until the end of the period, as Galil Gilboa led 60:48 after 30 minutes of play.
 
Galil Gilboa started the fourth quarter with a 7:0 run, extending their lead to 19 points - 67:48. Torus decreased their deficit to 69:56, before Yan Martin made it 72:56 halfway through the fourth quarter. The home side was holding on to a comfortable lead - 74:60 with less than four minutes to go. Until the final buzzer Galil Gilboa scored 11 more points against just 2 for Torus, settling the final score at 85:62.
 
Courtney Fells and Dagan Yivzori led Galil Gilboa with 17 points each. Yan Martin came off the bench scoring 16, while Joseph Jones and Ido Kozikaro finished with 10 points each.
 
Jeremiah Boswell scored the most for KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski - 17 points, while the other American on the roster - Justin Reynolds finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Gorjan Markovski added 9 points in the losing effort.
 
BC Galil Gilboa remained on top of Group A of the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League with a balance of 5-0, while KK Torus - SC Boris Trajkovski are at the fifth spot with a balance of 1-3.
 
In their next game Galil Gilboa are visiting Rilski Sportist on the 18th of January 2012, while KK Torus - SCBT are going to travel to Belgrade where they will face OKK Beogrado on the 11th of January.
