OKK Beograd eased past Rilski for their first BIBL win of the season

OKK Beograd didn′t have any trouble against Rilski Sportist in their last EUROHOLD Balkan League game for 2011. In the BIBL debut of head coach Vlado Djurovic, OKK eased past the Bulgarian side 86:68 in order to get their first win in the competition this season.OKK opened up the score after a basket by Nenad Misanovic for 2:0. They were the more active side in the opening minutes and led 9:8 with 7.55 left in the quarter. Rilski got the lead for a couple of minutes, before the home team tied the score at 12:12 around five minutes before the end of the quarter. In the following minutes OKK made an 8:3 run, making their lead 20:15 and after 10 minutes of basketball they were ahead again by 5 points - 23:18.
The second quarter would turn out as a disaster for the Bulgarian team. They managed to cut the deficit down to 3 points - 23:20, but OKK scored seven points in a row, and had their first double-digit lead of the night - 30:20. Less than five minutes before halftime the Serbian side already led by 15 points - 37:22. Rilski were struggling to make their chances pay and OKK was taking advantage. Halfway through the game OKK Beograd held a commanding 17-point lead - 47:30.
After the halftime break Rilski continued to go down and down. Around three minutes after the start of the third period OKK Beograd already led by 22 points - 57:35. 5.18 before the end of the quarter OKK were up by 24 - 63:39. Riletso managed to decrease their deficit down to 18 points - 63:45 which forced Vlado Djurovic to take a time-out. After 30 minutes in Belgrade OKK held a deserved 70:47 lead.
OKK Beograd held their lead during almost the entire fourth quarter, as in the end they let their opposition decrease the difference for the final score of 86:68.
Luka Drca scored 21 points for OKK Beograd′s win, while three other players from the home side also finished in double digits. Nenad Misanovic had 14, Stanoje Knezevic added 13 and Vuk Malidzan finished with 12.
Filip Vukosavljevic had 18 points for Rilski in their tough loss, while Hristo Zahariev added 16 points, but also turned the ball over 8 times.
Despite the win OKK Beograd remained on the last spot in Group A with a balance of 1-3. Rilski Sportist are second with 3-2.
