Branko Mirkovic: You can go far when people trust you

Rilski Sportist′s point guard Branko Mirkovic was awarded as player of the month for December by BGBasket.com and Press club Bulgaria. Here is what the Serbian playmaker had to say after receiving the award.   "I haven′t expected such an award. It′s coming because of my team playing good. This is a step up in my career." Mirkovic said.   Here is what he had to say about the 72-70 win against Galil Gilboa: "It was a hard game, they have an experienced team. Our goal was to keep the difference smaller and if we do that - to attack in the end, so we could win. And about the last three-pointers, the ball was in me, and I just had to shoot, I had nothing else to do. Thank God, they went in. I just play as point guard, and I have the ball a lot. The team feels, that when the ball is with me, it′s in safe hands. I don′t want to betray their trust in me."   "I think that a lot of things depend on me, and I don′t want to run away from responsibility. The whole team wants to move forward."   "I feel good in Samokov, and that′s why I came back. This club gets better every year. My place with this award here and our position in the EUROHOLD Balkan League speaks of that." Mirkovic added.
