Domestic leagues: Timisoara lost to Gaz Metan, Popescu got his MVP award

The Romanian participant in the EUROHOLD Balkan League - BC Timisoara lost the derby game against Gaz Metan away from home - 83:78. However the team had something to cheer, as Bogdan Popescu was crowned MVP of the previous round in Romania.   Zlatko Jovanovic and Dominique Archie both scored 20 points, as Jovanovic was one assist short of a double-double, finishing with 9. Sime Spralja added 10 points, and Bogdan Popescu finished with 9 and 7 boards.   Deven Mitchell had 17 for Gaz Metan and Ivan Ivanovic added 15.   Timisoara′s Bogdan Popescu was crowned MVP of Round 24, as last week he had 30 points and 10 rebounds in the win against Oradea.   On Tuesday Timisoara are facing Mornar Bar at home, as they must pursue a win in order to keep chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals. Their only chance is to win and Rilski Sportist to lose to OKK.
