Cory Carr - a true leader and great man (video)

At the age of 36 Cory Carr is not only the most experienced player of Hapoel Tel Aviv, but also in the EUROHOLD Balkan League at all. The American guard is emblematic player and well-known name in Israel, as he spent there almost all of his career in Europe.
 
In the beginning of the 2009/2010 season Carr became an Israeli citizen. People describe him as a  good scorer and pаsser,  with terrific defensive skills and great body strength. Despite all comments, Cory always says  that he is always trying to improve himself and his hardworking and big heart are the key for his success and performance during the years. Together with a big smile on his face, Cory Carr is an example for the younger players how a professional should behave on the court and in the real life also.

Cory started his college career in 1994 in Texas Tech, where during his stay,  he scored 1,904 career points and grabbed 411 rebounds. He is Texas Tech′s all-time leading 3-point shooter with 262 made three-point shots. In 1998 NBA draft he was selected in the second round by Atlanta Hawks but was immediately transferred to Chicago Bulls, where he made 42 appearances in 1998/1999 season. After one year in France with Pau-Orthez, Cory moved to Israel. Maccabi Raanana, Galil Elyon, Hapoel Haifa, Elitzur Ashkelon, Hapoel Ironi Nahariya are some of the teams, where the veteran used to play in the last decade.  In the beginning of season 2011/2012 Cory Carr decides to join BC Hapoel Tel Aviv. Despite that the club is playing in the Israeli National League (second division), Hapoel Tel Aviv is the most popular team in Israel and give to Cory new challenge – to play in the EUROHOLD Balkan League.

 
In EUROHOLD BIBL regular season Cory made 8 appearances, averaging  10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. His leading skills and the big experience made him one of the most important players in the Erez Edelshtein squad. Together with the two other Americans in the team - Curtis Kelly and Demontez Stitt made a monster trio, which helped Hapoel Tel Aviv to finished second in Group B with a 8-2 record and to qualify for the quarterfinal playoffs. In the first leg against Rilski Sportist  Cory Carr played his best game this season, finishing with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Despite the lost, Cory is optimist for the upcoming second game and thinks that Hapoel has the quality to reach the Final 4.
