Domestic leagues: Levski 2-0 up, Rilski shocked the champions away

Levski is now 2-0 up against Balkan in the semifinal series of the local league. The Blues from Sofia defeated the opponent 72-63 at home and are now a win away from the final. Game 3 is on Monday in Botevgrad.
Levski managed to hold on to a lead of 6-8 points and with strong defense took a 53-41 lead. Then it went up to 16 points but the visitors managed to come as close to 6, however without real threat as Dimitar Anguelov scored an important three-pointer.
Nemanja Protic had another good game for the winners with 19 points as Hrisimir Dimitrov added 10.
In the other semifinal Rilski Sportist recorded a great 95-75 away win against the champions Lukoil Academic. The team from Samokov tied the semifinal series at 1-1 and now has two home games.
The team from Samokov had a great shooting night and scored 16 three-pointers. They led by 14 points after the first half and in the third quarter the advantage went up to 25 with Rilski cruising to victory until the end.
Branko Mirkovic was the top performer for the winners with 26 points and 7 assists. Angelo Caloiaro had 19 points and 14 rebounds and Stanislav Vaklinov added 12 points.
