Levski is through to the final of the local championship after a dramatic home win against Balkan. The Blues won the fifth game of the semifinals 80-76 and will play against Lukoil Academic for the title.
After the first half Levski led by 21 points but Balkan played great in the second and with less than four minutes to play they even took a 7-point lead. However Levski responded with a 9-0 run before the visitors once again went up by a point. In the final moments Marko Marinovic scored and then his team managed to keep its small lead.
Marinovic was the top scorer with 25 points and 6 assists while Nemanja Protic added 14 points.
Rilski Sportist missed a great chance to reache the final after losing the 5th and decisive game to Lukoil Academic 84-86 away. The team from Samokov had a lead of 20 points at the start of the second quarter and led for the whole time. With three minutes to go the team was up by 9 and with 1.30 to play the score was tied. Lukoil then went up by 2 points and with 2 seconds to go Hristo Zahariev had a chance to tie the game. He scored only one free throw and it was enough for Lukoil to win.
Terry Smith had 24 points for Rilski while Branko Mirkovic added 17, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
