Macedonia celebrated 20 years from the first game of the national team

With a friendly game against Lithuania, Macedonia celebrated 20 years from the first official game of the national team. Yesterday in Skopje the team lost 50-62 but still it was more for a celebration than the game itself.

Before the start of the match on the court appeared the players that took part in that match 20 years ago. The president of the federation Mr. Daniel Dimevski awarded to each one of the players from that 1993 team a special shirt to keep for the history. Some of the presented were big names like Peter Naumoski, Pero Nastev, Dusan Bocevski, Milan Sotirovski, Gorge Vojnovic and Pero Blazevski who last season played for Kozuv in EUROHOLD Balkan League. After that Mr. Dimevski invited also other players and coaches that have been an important part of the national team in the next years and there were names like Vrbica Stefanov, Mirza Kurtovic, Marjan Srbinovski, Dimitar Mirakovski, Goran Samardzhiev, Toni Simic, Dime Tasovski, Marjan Giurov and Aleksandar Dimitrovski.

The Sports director of EUROHOLD Balkan League - Mr. Shay Shtriks also attended the game and had his gift for Mr. Dimevski. He gave him a specially made plaque for the event for the contribution to the development and popularization of basketball on the Balkans.
