After two straight lost finals in EUROHOLD Balkan League, BC Levski returns to the competition and will try to break the bad luck. When the first round will be played The Blues from Sofia will remain the only team that has participated in every season of the tournament. The head coach Konstantin Papazov has made some changes in the roster but nevertheless the team will be one of the main favourites to once again reach the Final 4.
Perhaps the top signing for the team this summer is Lionel Chalmers. The American is very experienced and has played in some very good teams in Europe. He will play the point guard position and his performance will be important for the team. His main substitute will be Ventsislav Petkov who will also play a lot at position "2". Petkov had a great pre-season and showed that Papazov can rely more on him in the upcoming season.
Hristo Zahariev is one of the new names on the wing as in the last two season he played in the competition with Rilski Sportist. He is improving and with Pavel Ivanov will provide some help in the scoring.
Another big signing in the summer was Jumaine Jones who has a lot of season in NBA and Europe. His experience and that of Dimitar Anguelov will be important as they probably will see time not only on the power forward position but on that of small forward as well. Here for a chance is waiting also the youngster Aleks Simeonov.
Nikolay Varbanov and the captain Stefan Georgiev will share time on position "5" and will protect the rim of the team. They also know the competition well and will have a main role in the roster.
Levski starts EUROHOLD Balkan League with a visit to SCM U Craiova on October 17th.
