Sigal Prishtina got the away victory against Kumanovo after a great second half

Sigal Prishtina (Prishtina, KOS) had a great debut in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team′s first ever match in the competition was away against KK Kumanovo 2009 (Kumanovo, MKD) but despite that fact Sigal managed to overcome the support of the local fans and won 89-78. The visitors played a great second half and at the end performed better than their hosts. In the second round Sigal will host BC Balkan while Kumanovo will host SCM U Craiova.

The home team played better at the start and took the lead in the first quarter as it went up to 9 points at times. The team held to a slight advantage and it continued like that until the end of the first half in which Kumanovo led but Sigal was right in the game.

The third quarter opened up with two triples for the hosts which saw their lead go up to 10 points. However Sigal responded more than well with a 13-2 run that gave the visitors the advantage and later it was 4 points. Yet after 30 minutes they were up by 2 and the game had to be decided in the last ten.

The final quarter started very good for Sigal as after 4 minutes the team made a 9-1 run and took a 9-point lead. This proved to be the moment that decided the match as until the end the visitors held on to their lead. At one point Kumanovo closed to gap to 5 but the players of Sigal immediately responded and won this first match.
 
Kendrick Jones had 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Fisnik Rugova had 12 points in 15 minutes and Tay Waller added 11 points.

For the home team Nemanja Vranjes was very good with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Ivan Miskovic had 22 points and 11 rebounds while Marjan Mladenovikj scored 12 points.
