Kumanovo 2009 took its first victory after a superb start against SCM U Craiova

KK Kumanovo 2009 (Kumanovo, MKD) took first win in the new season of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team played SCM U Craiova (Craiova, ROM) at home and were victorious by a score of 73-60. The hosts played a suberb first quarter in which they built a big lead and they helld on to it until the end. In the next round Kumanovo will take a rest and then on November 12th will host KB Peja. SCM U Craiova on the other hand will host KK Teodo next week.

In the first few minutes both teams had difficulties and didn′t score a lot. That was for 04.30 minutes when the score was tied at 6-6. Until the end of the first quarter the troubles for the visitors continued and the players of Kumanovo took full advantage of it. In the last 06.30 minutes of the quarter the hosts made a 17-1 run that gave them a lead of 16 points. It stayed in double digits in the second quarter and after an 11-0 start of the second half it went up to 25 points. In the last quarter Craiova managed to come as close as to 9 points but it was too late as the hosts then scored the next 5 and won in double digits.

Top scorers for the winners were Vukasin Mandic and Ivan Miskovic as both had 19 points and Marjan Janeski added 13 and 7 rebounds.

For the visitors the only player in double digits was Marin Kovac with 11 points as he added also 5 rebounds.
