KK Kumanovo 2009 defeated BC Balkan 87-73 at home to get its third straight home victory in EUROHOLD Balkan League. This put the team on a 3-1 record while Balkan is 1-3 now. Here is what coaches and player said after the match:
Goran Dimitrievikj, head coach of KK Kumanovo 2009: "I want to congratulate my players for playing a good game, they left their hearts on the court and we managed to get a very important victory. I think that at the start we controlled the match, opened it well and had a double digit lead. It′s normal to have some downs in our game as it′s difficult to be focused at 100% all 40 minutes. Balkan is a good team and all the teams in EUROHOLD Balkan League are quality ones. I hope we′ll continue in that rhythm."
Royce Parran, player of KK Kumanovo 2009: "We just did what we had to do and won at the end. It was a very intense game. Both teams played to their best and we′re happy we came out with the win."
Aleksandar Todorov, head coach of BC Balkan: "Kumanovo was the better team for the most part of the 40 minutes. We let them make a run, then the people rose up and it′s difficult to cut the deficit after that. They were the better team on that night and I congratulate them. I hope that both teams will see each other in the Top 6 of the tournament."
Pavel Marinov, player of BC Balkan: "Our team will not look like this in the next games. I don′t know what happened this time. We started very nervous and in the second quarter Kumanovo found its rhythm and then we couldn′t come back in the game."
