Another overtime thriller in EUROHOLD Balkan League, Sigal Prishtina won the derby of Kosovo

KB Sigal Prishtina won the first ever international derby of Kosovo. The team hosted its local rival KB Peja and took the victory by a score of 72-70 in overtime. For a second straight night a game in EUROHOLD Balkan League was decided in extra five minutes as both teams competed hard and offered a thrilling finalе to the match. Sigal now stands at a 4-1 record while Peja is the only team without a win having lost its four matches.The game started very well for the home team as they scored the first 8 points. Then with the score at 17-10 Sigal made a 7-0 run and went up by 14. After the first quarter the hosts had a double digit advantage but the second started on an 11-2 run for the visitors and suddenly they were back in the game. Until the end of the first half Sigal had a small lead but then in the third quarter Peja went in front. It happened in the middle of it and then Sigal tied the score. In the last four minutes though Peja made a 10-0 run to take a good lead in to the fourth quarter.
Sigal started trying to cut the deficit and the team did it thanks to its press defense. With little more than four minutes to play the hosts closed the gap to just 2 points but Gerti Shima responded with a great basket for Peja. Later Sigal once again got as close as 2 points but Fred House scored for the visitors. Then though Dardan Berisha made two free throws, Peja missed and Tay Waller also scoreed twice to tie the score with 22 seconds to go. The visitors had the last chance to win but they missed and the game went to overtime.
It started with a triple for Peja but the hosts answered back with one of their own and then with two made free throws took the lead. The advantage went to 4 points before Samir Saptahovic was fouled and scored three free throws to cut Peja′s deficit to 1. Later he tied the game with 45 seconds to go but Berisha scored two free throws which were the last and the decisive points of the game.
Tay Waller was the top scorer for the winners with 20 points ans Dardan Berisha had 14.
For the visitors Samir Saptahovic finished with 23 points and Gerti Shima had 17.
