Domestic leagues: Important home victory for Balkan

BC Balkan started the new year in style after defeating Rilski Sportist at home. The Greens from Botevgrad won 90-70 and now have an 8-2 record in the league. This was the team′s 7th straight victory that so far puts them in third position but with a game in hand.   Balkan made a 12-0 run in the second quarter that gave the team a 14-point lead. From that point on there was no doubt who the winner would be and the hosts stormed to victory.   Ivan Lilov was the top scorer with 22 points as Noah Dahlman had another double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
