Balkan defeated Peja and Kumanovo 2009 is in Top 6

BC Balkan defeated KB Peja 96-76 at home and finished well the regular season of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The Greens from Botevgrad are ending in fourth position and with this victory they threw Peja out of the Top 6. The team from Kosovo finished with 6 wins and 10 defeats - the same as Kumanovo 2009 and SCM U Craiova. However the advantage is for Kumanovo as the team has the better record in the direct matches and thanks to this is taking the 6th position in the regular season. Peja, Craiova and Kozuv are out of the race for the Final 4. Balkan will play with Teodo in the quarterfinal and the first match is on April 2nd. Kumanovo will face the looser of tomorrow′s game of Sigal Prishtina and Levski in the second quarterfinal.
Both teams exchanged baskets in the first minutes and after 10-3 run Balkan took a 10-point advantage. They kept the double digit advantage after the end of the first quarter and in the second Peja managed to cut the deficit to just 4. However at the break the hosts led by 7 points and after a good start to the second half once again pulled away. They quickly restored their double digit lead and until the end had no trouble to finish the game with victory.
Noah Dahlman was the top scorer for the winners with 23 points as he also added 7 rebounds. Logan Stutz had 16 points while Pavel Marinov finished with 14 points and 8 assists.
Fred House had 23 points for the visitors while Teo Simovic added 16 and 10 rebounds.
