Two in a row for Teodo

KK Teodo recorded its second straight win in Group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The Yellows from Tivat hosted KB Bashkimi and took 63-60 victory in a hard fought game. Both teams gave their all in an effort to win but the hosts managed to build a big enough advantage and they held on to it. This puts them top of the group with 2-0 record while Bashkimi suffered its first defeat. Next week Teodo will visit Peja as Bashkimi is coming to Sofia to play Levski 2014.   Bashkimi had a much better start to the game as after five minutes they were leading 14-4. Teodo answered with 6 straight points but the visitors had another 7 to go up by 11 just before the end of the first quarter. It finished with a triple by Subotic for the hosts as they tried to step it up before the second one. The visiting team however stayed in front and restored its 11-point lead on a triple by Waller with 4 minutes played in the period. However this basket was their last one before the break as Teodo finished the half on 11-0 run to tie the score after 20 minutes.   The game was close in the first four of the third quarter as the home team took its first lead. Then they made a run of 10-0 to go up by 12 points and finished the period leading by 10. There were ups and downs in the fourth one as well with Bashkimi cuting the deficit to 6, then Teodo restoring it to 11 before the visitors answered again and with 7-0 run close the gap to just 4 points. Then both teams exchanged baskets and after that missed shots. However with 51 seconds to go Djurisic scored a jumper but Tsakaleris hit back with two free throws. In the next offense Masan Vrbica went to the basket and scored a lay up which decided the game with 18 seconds to go.    Nikola Vucurovic was the top scorer for the winners with 15 points. Manuel Johnson had another good outing from the bench finishing with 14 points and 8 rebounds while Masan Vrbica added 10 points.    For the visiting team Tay Waller was the top performer with 21 points and 6 rebounds as Gerti Shima had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
