Second win for Bashkimi after triumph in Cetinje

KB Bashkimi recorded its second win in group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Prizren took an important step in the fight for direct place in the Second Stage after beating KK Lovcen Basket 75-66 away. This put them with a 2-2 record and with the three of the next four games to be played at home. Lovcen in the same time recorded its third straight defeat and now has slim chances of reaching the third position in the group. On November 18th Lovcen will host Peja while a week later Bashkimi will visit the same team in another Kosovo derby.

Both teams started difficult in offense but the visitors still had the better and led 6-0 after the first five minutes. Their advantage was cut to 3 after the end of the first quarter but in the second it became bigger. It happened when Bashkimi made a 9-0 run to go up by 12 points in the middle of the quarter and it remained in that area until the break.

The home side started well after the pause and cut the deficit to 5. Bashkimi however reacted to that and once again took a double digit lead as in the next minutes the difference went from 7 to 10 points. In the last ten minutes Bashkimi controlled the lead and never allowed Lovcen to come close. For most of the time it was 10 or more points and at the end the visitors celebrated with a win.

Granit Rugova had a great return from injury for the visitors and finished with 20 points. Theron Bussey also played well with 17 points and 6 rebounds as Tay Waller had 16 and 6.

For the home side a double double of 12 points and 11 rebounds had Sreten Knezevic as Petar Jovanovic added 11 points.
