Peja took control at the end of the third to defeat Levski 2014
11-11-2015 | 22:35
KB Peja had its second straight win in group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League after downing Levski 2014 75-68 at home. Both teams fought for 40 minutes  but in the end it was the home team to prevail as they took control at the end of the third quarter and never gave up the lead after that. After this result Peja, Levski 2014 and Teodo are tied with 2-1 record while Bashkimi is with 2-2. Lovcen is still without a win and next week they will host Peja. Levski on the other side travels to meet Teodo and Lovcen on December 1st and 3rd respectively.   Both teams were shorthanded as Peja played without Nenad Delic who injured his ankle the day before the game while Levski 2014 was without Aleksandar Yanev who left a few days ago. This is why The Blues suited up only nine players and moreover Aleks Simeonov was injured just three minutes in to the game.   Levski had an early 5-2 lead but Peja responded with 8-0 to go up. In the next minutes the hosts had a slight advantage but Hristo Nikolov was keeping the visitors in the game with his three pointers. After ten minutes Peja was up by 2 but then in the second Levski had some good moments and took an 8-point advantage. Peja however responded with 7-0 run but still the visitors managed to stay in front. That lasted right until the final seconds before the break when the hosts retook it and were up by 1 after 20 minutes.   The third quarter was very even almost until its end. At one point though Peja managed to make a 9-0 run to finish the quarter and to go up by 7. In the last quarter the hosts controlled the difference and when Drilon Hajrizi scored a triple with 3.12 to go and made it 11 points, the game was practically over. Still the visitors didn′t think so as they cut the deficit to 5 but then Burwell made a lay-up. Then Laser scored a triple but Burwell once again responded and there was no more time for anything.   Kevin Burwell was the top scorer for the home side with 20 points. Alban Veseli and Drilon Hajrizi had 12 points apiece with the second one dishing out 7 assists as well.   For the visitors Hristo Nikolov was above all with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Ilija Milutinovic also had a good game with 16 points and 8 rebounds while Tyler Laser came just short of a triple-double with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
