A dramatic victory for Bashkimi over Teodo

KB Bashkimi recorded a very dramatic win over KK Teodo in group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Prizren took 79-78 victory at home over the team from Tivat in a heartbreaking fashion. The game was decided by Antabia Waller who scored the winning basket with only 2 seconds on the game clock. With that win Bashkimi are third in the standings with 3-3 record while Teodo are first with 4-2 record but also with game more. Next week Bashkimi will host BC Levski 2014 while Teodo will visit Peja.   The visitors started a bit better and led 7-2 early. Later though a 13-0 run for the home side gave them a 7-point lead which was cut to 4 after ten minutes of play. In the second quarter both teams stayed close with Bashkimi leading for most of the time. Twice the visitors moved in front but their leads didn′t last long. The hosts finished better the first half and were up by 4 at the end of it.   Teodo started well the second half and quickly tied the score. Then both teams exchanged points with none being able to take a big lead. With the score tied in the third minute of the fourth quarter Manuel Johnson scored five points in a row for the visitors but with 2.40 to go Bashkimi tied with a triple. Then the visitors missed and Shima was in the right place to give Bashkimi the lead only for Vrbica to hit back immediatelly. Seconds later Shima missed two free throws and Zejak responded by scoring a three-pointer for Teodo to put the team in front. Granit Rugova cut the deficit to 1 and after Vrbica missed two free throws, Bashkimi had a chance to win. Tay Waller scored for the hosts and put them up by 1 with only 2 seconds to go. From the inbounds play Teodo made a turnover and the game finished.   The hosts made only 8 mistakes compared to 15 for Teodo. Thanks to that Bashkimi had 15-4 advantage in points off turnovers.   Marcel Jones was the top performer for the winners with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Gerti Shima had another double double with 16 points and 14 rebounds while Granit Rugova had 15 points.   Manuel Johnson had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Teodo while Aaron Mitchell scored 13 points.
