Vasil Kifev: This medal is a joy for our city

BC Beroe won the first ever medal in the club′s history. The team from Stara Zagora finished third in the Cup of Bulgaria after beating the hosts Balkan in the game for the bronze medals. Here is what the team′s president Vasil Kifev had to say after Beroe win the match:

"This medal brings a lot of joy for the club and for the city of Stara Zagora. This was our first participation in a Final 4 and we managed to win a medal. We came as far as to be sorry for not being in the final which means that we have reached some kind of level.

I′m extremely happy that the Mayor of Stara Zagora - Zhivko Todorov, understood the importance of our participation in the Balkan League as something useful for the basketball and for the city of Stara Zagora. For the moment this has been proved undoubtedly. From one side, relaxed from not having goals in the competition, our team was developing with each game as now we reached to a moment to have real chances to go to the semifinals. Now we′ll try our best to advance and we are not going to back up from a more serious competition. For that we are going to need also the support from the fans in Stara Zagora and I hope they′ll show up at the gym."
