14 triples make Kumanovo the undisputed group A leader
KK Kumanovo remained the only unbeaten team in group A. The Macedonians hosted BC Beroe in a direct battle for the first place and won 82-72 after a very interesting game. Both teams played with great intensity and fought from start to finish to get the win. However the experience and the good three-point shooting of the home team were the decisive factors and they took the victory. With it Kumanovo is first in the group with 4 wins from 4 games while Beroe comes second, also with 8 points but with 3-2 record. Next week Kumanovo will visit Teodo while Beroe′s next match is on December 6th against Kozuv.
It was a very high tempo first quarter with both teams playing fast but also missing a lot. A 5-0 run to end the period gave Kumanovo a 3-point edge after ten minutes but the second started on a 12-2 run for Beroe for 7-point advantage. The hosts however responded quickly cut the deficit and just before the break went up by 1.
In the middle of the third quarter the score was tied but then Kumanovo made a 7-0 run to pull away. Beroe though responded to close the gap which at the 30-minute mark was just 2 points. The hosts however started the final period on another 7-0 run to go up by 9 but this time they held on for the advantage. It even reached double figures and Kumanovo managed to get an important win.
The hosts hit 14 triples from 32 attempts which proved to be decisive because Beroe had only 8 of 26.
Marjan Janeski had a great game for the home side with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and scoring 6 triples. Aleksandar Kostoski also had 6 and finished with 20 points and 6 rebounds while Danilo Mijatovic scred 17 points.
Top scorer for the visitors was Shane Gibson with 19 points while also adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Aaron Jones had 17 points and 8 rebounds as Omari Gudul added 12 and 5.
