Veseli is the hero in the third overtime thriller this week

KB Peja recorded a dramatic win after a third overtime game in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League this week. The Yellows hosted KK Sutjeska and took 76-74 victory after another dramatic minutes. The hero for the home side was Alban Veseli who scored the winning triple with 1.5 seconds left in the overtime. With that game Peja is now with 3-1 record in group B while Sutjeska is tied for the first place with 4-2. Next week Peja will visit Karpos Sokoli while the Niksic team will visit SK Tirana.

The game was very close for most of the time but Sutjeska finished the first half with 11 straight points to broke a tie. Then in the third period Peja answered the call and tied the score at 38 after 12-0 run and later even led by 1 after the end of it. A drama followed in the fourth quarter as the hosts led by 6 with less than three minutes remaining and by 5 with minute and a half to go. Sutjeska though didn′t give up and first a triple by Thomas cut the deficit and after the home side missed twice James scored to tie the score and sent the game to overtime.

After the teams exchanged points Veseli hit one free throw to put Peja up by 2 with 90 seconds to go. Sutjeska then missed but finally with 15 seconds on the clock Thomas scored, was fouled and added one free throw to give his team a single point advantage. However there was still enough time and the ball went to Veseli in the corner who scored the game winning triple.

Alban Veseli was the top performer for the winners with his double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Noah Dahlman also did well with 16 and 8 while Cameron Rundles (9 assists) and LaMarcus Reed (13 rebounds) had 13 points apiece.

All the starters scored in double figures for Sutjeska with Jermayne Thomas finished with 15 points. Jayon James added 13 points as Goran Gajovic had 12, 13 rebounds and 7 assists.
