Strong second half helps Teodo down the champions

KK Teodo recorded a very good and important win in its last home game of the First Stage in BIBL. The Tivat team hosted the champions KB Sigal Prishtina and played very well in the second half to take 88-68 victory. The home side did good both in offense and defense after the break which was more than enough to secure that win. Moreover the difference is bigger that the one Teodo lost in Prishtina with so the team will held the tie-breaker advantage. The Tivat team is now with 4-4 record and will play its next game away at Beroe Stara Zagora. Sigal Prishtina is with 2-4 record and will host Beroe on January 10th.

Both teams started difficult and didn′t score a lot early. The first one to pull away was Teodo as the hosts made a 7-0 run in the second period to take an 8-point lead. Sigal though responded with 8-0 to tie the score and the teams remained close until the break which came with a 2-point advantage for the visitors.

A great 13-2 run to start the second half put Teodo up by 9. After that the hosts overcame Sigal′s attempts to come close as Stanojevic hit two important triples. It helped Teodo keep its lead which was 10 after 30 minutes. In the middle of the fourth quarter Kusovac scored a three-pointer to put the home team up by 16 and after that moment it was clear who would go on and win the match.

The hosts had a very good shooting night and hit 11 triples from 32 attempts which compared to 4 of 18 for the visitors was more than enough to secure the win.

Milan Stanojevic had a good game and finished with 22 points and 5 assists. Nikola Vucurovic also did well against his former team adding 20 points as Milos Popovic had a double-double with 14 and 11 rebounds.

Drilon Hajrizi played well for the visitors finishing with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Malcolm Rhett had 17 and 8 while Fisnik Rugova scored 11 points.
