Domestic leagues: Beroe secured second place, Academic Bultex 99 keeps fighting for the fourth
BC Beroe secured the second place before the playoffs in Bulgaria with two rounds to play. The Stara Zagora team defeated Yambol 90-64 away from home and will now start preparing for the decisive games.
There was no real challenge for The Greens as a 10-0 run to start the second quarter gave them the initiative. At the break it was 17 and after it the hosts couldn′t come close.
Conner Frankamp was the top performer for the winners with 19 points and 7 rebounds as Terrence Jennings had 13 points and 9 rebounds.
In the meantime Academic Bultex 99 made an important step towards securing the fourth place after beating Spartak Pleven 79-66 at home. The Plovdiv team started the game with 26-6 run and from then on controlled the game and the difference.
Peter Olisemeka had a double-double for the win with 14 points and 10 rebounds as three other players had 13 points apiece.
With two rounds to go Beroe has 17 wins and 5 defeats for the second place as Academic is tied for fourth with 11-11 record but has the tiebreaker advantage over Rilski Sportist.
